BETHESDA, MD — Presidents Day falls on Monday, Feb. 15. And you know what that means: a three-day weekend.

Some government facilities, services, and programs won't be available over the holiday weekend. So it's best to check with your local Patch site or municipality for the latest information.

If you're taking the Metro this weekend, here's everything you need to know:

Red Line trains will operate every 12 to 15 minutes on Saturday and Sunday — and every six to 15 minutes on Monday.


There will be no Blue Line service due to the Platform Improvement Project.

  • Arlington Cemetery will be closed
    • Free shuttle buses will run between Rosslyn, Arlington Cemetery, and Pentagon
    • Arlington Cemetery hours vary by season; click here to learn more
  • Addison Road station will be closed
    • Free shuttle buses will operate between Capitol Heights and Addison Road
  • Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street will be closed
    • Free, local shuttle buses will run between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, and Eisenhower Avenue
    • Express shuttle buses will run between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon

Orange and Green Line trains will operate every 15 to 20 minutes on Saturday and Sunday — and every 12 to 20 minutes on Monday.


Yellow and Silver Line trains will also operate on the same schedule as the Orange and Green lines.

But on the Yellow Line:

  • Trains will operate in two segments on Monday
    • Between Huntington and Braddock Road
    • Between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Greenbelt
  • Free shuttle buses will be provided
    • Between Braddock Road and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

And on the Silver Line:

  • Addison Road will be closed due to the Platform Improvement Project
    • Free shuttle buses will be offered between Capitol Heights and Addison Road
