She Never Knew How Much She Loved Those Cufflinks---Until They Were Gone

A Bethesda-Chevy Chase blogger writes that she was once jealous of the cufflinks her husband wore.

They were a gift from his high school sweetheart.

As the years grew into decades, he continued to wear those cufflinks and writer Ellouise Schoettler said that her husband Jim “was not one to waste money on something he already had and liked. Things were just things to him.”

“We never did agree about that,” she writes. “I am one of those people who is apt to imbue 'things' with mystical power and sentimental meaning.”

Schoettler’s husband died last year.
