Study Planned to Develop Montgomery Bus Rapid Transit

Two open houses will be held in Bethesda and Gaithersburg to provide information and gather community input.

BETHESDA, MD–The Maryland Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, is conducting a study for developing Bus Rapid Transit along a portion of the MD 355 corridor.

Two public open houses will be held to provide information and gather community input about potential BRT service from Bethesda to Clarksburg.

At the open houses, participants will meet with the project team and be able to review:

  • BRT elements - how it works, what it looks like, etc.
  • The study process and schedule
  • Existing conditions inventory
  • Draft preliminary purpose and need
