Suspect At Large In String Of Montgomery County Bank Robberies

Police believe the man is responsible for bank robberies throughout Montgomery County and one robbery in Prince George's County.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Police are searching for a man they believe committed bank robberies around Montgomery County and Prince George's County over the past few months.

In each incident, the man passed a note to a bank teller demanding money, police said.

The following bank robberies and attempted bank robbery were reported to Montgomery County Police:

  • March 29: The suspect entered the Capital One Bank at 11241 Georgia Ave. at about 11:09 a.m. He received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank, police said.
  • May 3: The suspect entered the BB&T Bank at 13350 New Hampshire Blvd. in the Colesville area at about 11:55 a.m. The teller contacted police and the suspect fled without money.
  • August 4: The suspect entered the SunTrust Bank at 8510 Connecticut Ave. in Chevy Chase at about 9:09 a.m. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Police believe the same man committed a bank robbery in Prince George's County on July 10. The robbery occurred at about 1:35 p.m. at a bank in the 6200 block of Annapolis Rd. in Landover Hills, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspect or these bank robberies is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.

To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
