Traffic Alert: Construction Of $350M Development To Close 2 Lanes
The construction of a mixed-use development in Bethesda will temporarily close two lanes of traffic on Montgomery Avenue.
BETHESDA, MD — The construction of Avocet Tower — a $350 million mixed-use development in Bethesda — will temporarily close down two lanes of traffic on Montgomery Avenue between Wisconsin Avenue and Waverly Street.
Montgomery County transportation officials say the lanes will be closed five nights a week — from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
"The lane closures are needed to install new water laterals and abandon existing water main as building construction continues," officials said in a statement. "The work will include cutting the asphalt, excavation, pipe placement, water line shut down to abandon existing water main, backfill and compaction of the lines."
