MCPS Updates Weather Call For Wednesday, Jan. 30
Montgomery County Public Schools reevaluated conditions on Wednesday and made an announcement.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Montgomery County will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30. School officials made the announcement Wednesday morning, updating an earlier decision to open late.
The closure on Wednesday comes "due to current travel conditions in some portions of the county and anticipated emergency weather conditions this afternoon," according to a statement from Montgomery County Public Schools.
School administrative offices will open two hours late, the statement said.

Child care programs held in Montgomery County Public Schools may open after 10:30 a.m., officials reported.

PREVIOUS DECISION (EXPIRED) — Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, public schools in Montgomery County will open two hours late on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
The school system said in a Tuesday evening announcement: "MCPS schools and offices will open two hours late on January 30, 2019 due to emergency weather conditions. MCPS will continue to monitor roads to ensure conditions are safe for students and staff. If closure is needed, an announcement will be made by 7 a.m. Bus service will be provided on a two-hour-delayed schedule. Morning prekindergarten, morning half-day Head Start, other morning half-day programs and field trips are canceled. Other activities and programs that begin at 10:50 a.m. or earlier are canceled. Childcare programs in school buildings may open after 10:30 a.m."
