BETHESDA, MD — As you get ready for your Fourth of July plans, take a look at what will be open and closed in Bethesda and Montgomery County this weekend. Most office buildings will be closed, but be sure to look at Montgomery Parks recommended activities for the weekend if you're looking for something to do outside.
Fourth of July is on a Sunday, so the holiday will be observed on Monday for many offices in the county.

Montgomery County office buildings: closed
Montgomery County courts: closed

Montgomery County libraries: closed
Alcohol Beverage Services stores: open for regular hours
Ride On and Flash Bus Service: operating on a regular Sunday schedule on July 4, and on a Saturday schedule on July 5. See the schedule here.
Parking at public garages, lots and curbside meters: Free July 5
Metrorail and Metrobus: The metro will open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. The National Mall entrance at the Smithsonian will become entry only after 9 p.m. to accommodate for the crowds watching the fireworks shows. Find all of the metro information here.
MARC Train and Commuter Bus: Penn Line service will run as usual on Sunday. On Monday, there will be no service on the Camden or Brunswick Lines and the Penn Line will operate on a Saturday schedule.
Trash and recycling: Trash and recycling will be picked up on Monday and will continue as scheduled throughout the week.
Shady Grove Transfer Station: closed on July 4, resuming service on July 5
