BETHESDA, MD — The Fourth of July holiday will be celebrated differently this year due to the ongoing public health crisis. Fireworks, parades, festivals, community concerns, and other celebrations have been canceled, leaving residents to find way to celebrate at home. But one thing we can count on is a scheduled holiday and delays in some services.
What's open and closed on Independence Day:
- County Offices - Closed.
- Libraries - Closed.
- Department of Liquor Control retail stores - Stores open from noon to 5 p.m.
- Recreation - Closed.
- Montgomery Parks - Click here.
- Ride On - Operates on a Saturday schedule.
- Metrorail and Metrobus - Information available at www.wmata.com.
- TRiPS Commuter Store (Silver Spring) - Closed.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store - Closed.
- County-Provided Refuse/Recycling Pickup - Normal schedule.
- Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station - Facility closed.
- Parking at garages, lots, curbside meters - Free.
- State offices and courts - Closed.
