Zero Deaths Reported In Montgomery County For Three Straight Days
Montgomery County added 117 new coronavirus cases overnight, according to public health data. The local death toll remains at 1,447.
BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County registered 117 new coronavirus infections overnight, data released by the Maryland Department of Health showed.
For Maryland's most populous jurisdiction, Wednesday's addition pushes the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 68,377.
No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The local death toll remains at 1,447.

The latest fatality count does not include the 46 others whose deaths were linked to the virus but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."
Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million people — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 80,598, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 430,351 cases, 8,307 confirmed deaths, and 186 "probable deaths." Of the 1,236 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 283 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As of Wednesday, Maryland has administered 3,605,223 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 2,143,584 were first doses and 1,285,478 were second doses.
In Montgomery County, 448,353 residents (42.7 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 269,114 residents (25.6 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
