School Board Candidates Announced for District 30 and 31

From the AACPS Communications Office:

Residents from Annapolis and Edgewater are vying for the District 30 seat on Anne Arundel County Board of Education.

Applicants for District 30 are:

• Solon Webb of Annapolis*
• James Appel of Edgewater
• Raymond Leone of Edgewater

Applicants for District 31 are:

• Debbie Ritchie of Pasadena*
• Keith Kuchera of Glen Burnie
• Terry Gilleland of Glen Burnie
• Mark A. Gossage Jr. of Pasadena
• Lisa Shore of Pasadena

*= incumbent Board member

Upcoming candidate and public hearings are planned for:

• Tuesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. – Board Room, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis, Public Hearing – District 30 Candidates will be subject to questioning by the nominating commission. The public may attend, but no public testimony will be taken.
• Wednesday, June 17, at 7 p.m. – Board Room, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis, Public Hearing – District 31 Candidates will be subject to questioning by the nominating commission. The public may attend, but no public testimony will be taken.
• Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m. – Board Room, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis, Commission will accept designated candidate witnesses as well as general public testimony from proponents and opponents of the candidates.

Open sessions of the Commission are broadcast live AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon. They are also webcast live on Livestream, accessible here.
