UMd. Student Mugged on Hartwick Road

Four suspects approached a student walking along Hartwick Road.

A University of Maryland student was mugged early Saturday morning on Hartwick Road at Princeton Avenue.

The victim was walking along Hartwick Road around 2 a.m. when he was approached by four suspects. According to a crime alert from UMd.'s Department of Public Safety, the victim was tackled by one suspect, while another took the victim's wallet from his back pocket, removed the cash and threw the wallet to the ground. The suspects then fled toward Baltimore Avenue.

The victim suffered minor abrasions to the face.

The first suspect is a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, 180 pounds, with short hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and denim shorts.

The second suspect is a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with a light complexion. He was wearing a white T-shirt and denim shorts.

The third suspect is a black male, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a navy T-shirt.

No specific information is available on the fourth suspect.
