COLUMBIA, MD — The first significant snowfall of January 2019 resulted in about 13 inches of accumulation in Columbia. In fact, Columbia had one of the highest snow totals in the state of Maryland from the weekend storm, based on reports submitted to the National Weather Service.

The measurements sent to the National Weather Service are considered preliminary.

In any event, there was enough snow to cancel school Monday and to merit a delay Tuesday.
