60 MPH Wind Gusts Possible, Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued
BREAKING: Go inside and do not drive under wooded areas until the storm threat has passed, the National Weather Service warns.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m. for parts of Howard, Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties. The National Weather Service issued the warning Thursday afternoon.
Wind gusts may reach 60 mph, according to the warning.
During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning.

Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.
Radar showed a line of severe thunderstorms along a line from Severn to Crofton to Woodmore. The storms were moving east at 30 mph, according to the warning.

These locations may be impacted: Columbia, Bowie, Severn, Annapolis, Crofton, Greenbelt, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Bladensburg, Mayo, Naval Academy, Baltimore-Washington Airport, Severn River, South River, Fort Smallwood State Park, Bodkin Point, Sillery Bay, Rhode River, Glen Burnie and Severna Park.
