With the weather getting warmer and graduation season starting, your home is sure to be filled with out-of-town guests. How will you keep them entertained and well fed?

We asked Howard County residents where they’d take their long-weekend lodgers. Here’s a list of the best eats and awesome activities in your neighborhood:

  • "There's a map below, and while the trees aren't always in bloom, these destinations always have something fun to offer and represent Columbia well! [The Howard County Cherry Tree Project]"
  • "Pasta Plus for dinner. Excellent local Italian, beats a chain/franchise any day."
  • "We like to take guests to the newly revamped CoHo Grill. Especially on the patio overlooking the golf course. It can get pretty pricey though."
  • "The amish market"
  • "Judges Bench, Patapsco swinging bridge area, Liberty Dam"
  • "Clyde's is good food and a columbia landmark. It's also at the lakefront where there's usually lots going on."

From May 20 to Sept. 23, ice cream lovers are invited to visit each of Maryland’s nine dairy farms, try the ice cream, and answer a dairy-themed trivia question. Each visit earns a passport stamp.

Get all nine stamps, mail them in, and a select number of passports will be picked from the lot and awarded prizes.
