Charges Filed In Death Of Man Found Buried In Columbia Woods

Marino Sanchez-Galdamez, 23, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter and assault.

COLUMBIA, MD — Howard County police have charged a Randallstown man in the murder of Nahun Delgado-Sanchez, 34, whose body was found buried in a wooded area in Columbia in October 2020. Marino Sanchez-Galdamez, 23, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter and assault.

Sanchez-Galdamez was arrested March 27 in Hyattsville and is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center. He is not related to the victim. Police received information Oct. 20 about a body in a wooded area adjacent to the 6100 block of Old Dobbin Lane. Officers searched and found Delgado-Sanchez’s remains in a shallow grave, according to a police report.

Investigators believe Delgado-Sanchez was last seen alive approximately one month prior, but he had not been reported missing. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide by multiple sharp force injuries. After announcing the discovery of the remains, police received several tips from the public that led them to develop Sanchez-Galdamez as a suspect. Detectives believe he killed DelgadoSanchez in mid-September and buried his body, the police report noted. Police believe that the two men were acquaintances and the victim was targeted in this incident, but are still investigating the motive.
