Fuzzy Rides Take Whirl Around The Mall in Columbia
Motorized animals provide entertainment in Columbia mall.
There’s a new way to take in the sights at The Mall in Columbia. It’s called Fuzzy Rides.
The Fuzzy Rides kiosk at the mall rents out giant motorized animals people can ride in the area outside J.C. Penney.
“More teenagers and adults get in them than kids,” said a staffer at the Fuzzy Ride kiosk. “They like to race.”

Both children and adults have taken an interest in Fuzzy Rides.
On Saturdays, more than 70 teens and adults have checked out the Fuzzy Rides in Columbia, while Sundays have drawn crowds of young children.
The animals charge like cell phones and can vary in speed.
They have been in the Columbia mall for approximately one month. Fuzzy Rides also operates in Towson Town Center.
The Columbia kiosk offers nine large animals and three smaller ones. The most popular so far are the pig and the elephant, which staff say are the fastest.
It costs $7 to check out a motorized animal for 10 minutes and $12 for 20 minutes. The Fuzzy Rides kiosk is located on the upper level outside J.C. Penney at The Mall in Columbia. Children 5 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
