Howard, Anne Arundel County Residents Support 3rd Bridge Span
A Washington Post-University of Maryland poll shows that many Marylanders are indifferent about the Chesapeake Bay Bridge project.

COLUMBIA, MD — Despite the hubbub surrounding transportation concerns along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Marylanders overall actually consider transportation issues to be one of the state's less concerning problems. In fact, in a recent Washington Post-University of Maryland poll, only 10 percent of Marylanders consider road and transit issues to be a concern. The poll, conducted by The Washington Post and the University of Maryland's Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement, showed that crime at 22 percent and public education at 20 percent are bigger concerns.
Of those polled, 55 percent support building a third span at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The most support for a third span comes from Howard and Anne Arundel counties, a combined 63 percent total compared to 55 percent from residents combined from among the residents in other parts of the state. A third span has 52 percent support from Baltimore city and county combined, and 55 percent in Prince George's and Montgomery counties.
