Howard County Library Hosts Virtual Italian-Themed Fundraiser
Participants will experience the deliciousness of Italian cuisine with an online cooking class among other planned activities.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Make plans to attend the Howard County Library System's Serata Virtual - Evening in the Stacks fundraiser Feb. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. The virtual event will transport guests to Italy where participants will experience the deliciousness of Italian cuisine with Chef Francesca leading everyone in a cooking class, along with a tour reflecting the beauty of the country's culture.
Fundraiser participants can make the event even more real by grabbing pickup or having food delivered from local Italian eateries. There will be a wine and Tuscan beverage pull, as well as presentations from several authors during the fundraiser.
“The library has made it a priority to provide creative ways for the community to keep learning, stay informed, feel less isolated and be more connected safely during a global pandemic. Taking our signature Evening in the Stacks event virtual is a natural extension of this,” Tonya Aikens, president and CEO of Howard County Library System, said in a statement. “Having been confined to our homes for most of the past year, it’s our pleasure to give people the chance to virtually venture out and enjoy themselves while helping the library continue to offer programs to assist the most vulnerable among us."
