Columbia Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

A Howard County man was arrested by State Police on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.

COLUMBIA, MD — Jose G. Rodriguez, 45, of Columbia was arrested Thursday by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit on multiple charges of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Rodriguez was arrested Thursday morning after members of the Computer Crimes Unit served a search warrant at his Columbia home in the 5600 block of Steven Forest Road. The unit reportedly found a cell phone containing child pornography.

The Computer Crimes Unit received information last month concerning distribution of child pornography online. The investigation led to the identification of Rodriguez and his location.

Rodriguez is currently awaiting a bond hearing before a court commissioner in Howard County.
