Howard County Under Code Orange Air Quality Alert

Those sensitive to air quality should avoid strenuous activities, outdoor exercise.

The Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a “code orange” alert for several jurisdictions in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area Friday due to the concentration of pollutants in the air.

Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties are included in the air quality alert.
This means that the air will be unhealthy for sensitive groups—including those with heart or lung conditions, asthmatics, children and older adults.
