Man Threatens Teen With Machete: Howard County Police Blotter

Five men approached another man and stole his tennis shoes and cell phone, according to the Howard County Police Department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The following is a roundup of police activity for the previous week in Howard County.

Commercial burglary
Fulton, 20759: BP Gas, 8100 block of Maple Lawn Boulevard, Jan. 22 3:23 a.m.
Unknown suspect(s) entered the gas station store by forcing open the door and stole cash.

Residential burglary
Ellicott City, 21043: 4500 block of Ilchester Road, Jan. 21 5:30 p.m.
Unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter the vacant residence by breaking a rear glass door. No entry was made.

ARREST: Robbery update
Police have made an arrest in a Nov. 28, 2020, robbery in the 7000 block of Montgomery Road in Elkridge. An adult male victim reported that he was approached by five male suspects with their faces partially covered who assaulted him and stole his sneakers and cell phone before fleeing. The victim also reported that one suspect displayed a handgun. No serious injuries were reported. Through investigation, police identified one suspect and arrested him.

armed robbery, robbery, assault, theft, and weapon violations

Columbia, 21044: Owen Brown Road & Sunny Spring, Jan. 20 7:46 p.m.
A teenage male victim reported that he was approached by a male suspect who assaulted him, threatened him with a machete, and stole his bicycle. Police responded and arrested the suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

An adult male victim reported that he answered a knock at the door of his residence and was tased by a male suspect who forced his way into the residence. The suspect then fled through the back door. Nothing was reported stolen. No serious injuries were reported.
SUSPECT: black male wearing all black clothing, no further description

Robbery
Ellicott City, 21042: 10000 block of Autumn View Lane, Jan. 15 11:31 a.m.
A teenage male victim reported that he was walking in Font Hill Wetlands Park when he was approached by two suspects, one of whom displayed a handgun and demanded his wallet. The
victim then fled and nothing was reported stolen.
SUSPECTS: two unknown race males, one taller with a thin build, the other shorter with a heavy
build, no further description
Columbia, 21046: Royal Farms, 9500 block of Snowden River Parkway, Jan. 16 3:53 p.m.
A store employee reported that three male suspects with their faces partially covered entered the store, assaulted him, and stole cigarettes before fleeing. No serious injuries were reported.
SUSPECTS: three black males in their late 20s-early 30s, one approximately 5’6”-5’10” with a heavy build wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and tan boots; the second approximately 5’10”-6’0” wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, and the third approximately 6’0” wearing a blue winter coat, black pants, and black shoes

Unknown suspect(s) entered a vacant apartment by prying open the door. Nothing was reported stolen.

Indecent exposure

A resident reported that a male suspect was standing outside of a window of her home and exposing himself. The suspect then fled on foot.
