Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect
The National Weather Service has put the Baltimore-Washington area on alert for potential storms, extreme heat.

There's a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for most of Maryland Monday. The National Weather Service issued the watch, effective until 10 p.m. on Monday, July 25.
The following jurisdictions are in the watch area: Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Talbot and Washington counties as well as Baltimore City.
A severe thunderstorm watch means that conditions are favorable for producing a severe thunderstorm.

The region is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. on Monday, with temperatures feeling hotter than 105 degrees, according to the weather service.
People are advised to limit their time outside and take frequent breaks if possible.
