Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For 17 Maryland Jurisdictions

MARYLAND — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for much of Maryland. The National Weather Service issued the watch for several jurisdictions — Maryland, Delaware, D.C., New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia — Thursday afternoon.

The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.

Hail the size of ping-pong balls may fall, tornadoes are possible and scattered wind gusts up to 65 mph are likely, according to the National Weather Service.
