Tracy Broccolino named Director of Early Childhood Education
Community Action Council of Howard County Announces New Hire

The Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tracy Broccolino as its new Director of Early Childhood Education. In this position, Broccolino will lead CAC’s early childhood education programming, which serves 322 students across Howard County.
“Tracy comes with us with years of leadership experience in early childhood education,” said Bita Dayhoff, president of the Community Action Council of Howard County, “She brings a tremendous level of knowledge about early childhood education that will support the work we do with our children and their families.”
Broccolino comes to CAC with years of experience as the national director of special education and senior manager of special education services for 35 public charter schools, serving students ages K-12. Broccolino has led teams of special educators and teachers and has researched and developed curriculum specific for children in this age group.

“I am honored to serve as the Director of Early Childhood Education at the Community Action Council of Howard County, an organization that epitomizes my passion for helping children thrive,” Broccolino said. “For nearly 55 years, CAC has served the children and families of Howard County, providing the highest quality early childhood education. I am so proud to be a member of the CAC family and excited for the future ahead!”
CAC’s early childhood education program enrolls three, four and five-year-old children and is offered at four centers across Howard County, serving 322 students annually. The program, which encompasses both Head Start and Pre-K, is designed to prepare students socially, emotionally and academically for kindergarten. It also has a focus on family engagement and forming partnerships between parents and staff that promote family stability, reduce stressors and connect families to critical family resources. In addition, CAC offers before and after-care, enabling parents to work or continue their education.
