Wind Advisories Issued Across Maryland
The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories Monday calling for gusts up to 50 mph in jurisdictions around Maryland.
MARYLAND — Wind gusts could reach 50 mph across Maryland on Monday, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued wind advisories from the Baltimore-Washington area to the Eastern Shore. Some bridges are under warnings and restrictions.
The wind advisory for central Maryland is effective from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 15. Winds of 45 to 55 mph trigger the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory.
During the advisory period, strong winds may blow down tree limbs, trees and power lines.

West winds of 20 to 30 mph are possible Monday, with gusts up to 50 mph, the advisory states.
Winds are expected to be strongest from late morning through the afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered power outages are possible.

Those driving high-profile vehicles should be especially cautious, keeping both hands on the wheel.
As of 9:45 a.m., multiple Maryland bridges are under alert, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority:
The Bay Bridge and I-695 Key Bridge are under limited wind restrictions, meaning house trailers or empty box trailers may not cross due to winds from 40 to 49 mph.
The Hatem and Tydings bridges are under wind warnings, meaning drivers should use caution while crossing, particularly those behind the wheel of house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds, which are 30 to 39 mph.
The wind advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. for the following:
- Anne Arundel County
- Baltimore City
- Baltimore County
- Carroll County
- Frederick County
- Harford County
- Howard County
- Montgomery County
- Prince George's County
Parts of central and northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia and the District of Columbia are also under the advisory.
Areas along the Eastern Shore — including Cecil, Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties — are under a separate wind advisory effective from noon to 10 p.m. on Monday, April 15.

Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 60 and low of 42. Windy, with a west wind of 18 to 23 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Overnight gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 66 and low of 52. West wind of 9 to 11 mph.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 62 and low of 54.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74 and low of 52. Chance of nighttime showers.
Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 73 and low of 59. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Saturday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70 and low of 51. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 66.
