Anne Arundel County Youth Tennis Players Prevail At Tournament

CROFTON, MD — Anne Arundel County youth tennis players performed well in the Patapsco Valley Junior Tennis League held July 25-26 at the Crofton Swim and Tennis Club. Finalists and champions hailed from Shipley's Choice Swim & Tennis Club, Chartwell Country Club, Crofton Swim & Tennis Club, St. Andrew’s Swim & Tennis Club, Andover Swim & Tennis Club and South River Colony.

More than 100 players competed. Below are the winners:

• 16-18 Boys Singles: Champion – Andrew Bubnis (Shipley’s Choice Swim & Tennis Club) won 8-6. Finalist – Christopher Preston (Chartwell Country Club)
• 16-18 Girls Singles: Champion – Sydney Mudd (St. Andrew’s Swim & Tennis Club) won 8-1. Finalist – Christiana Kambouris (Chartwell)
• 16-18 Open Doubles: Champions - Jacob Hill/Vance Basham (Andover Swim & Tennis Club) won 8-5. Finalists – Kate Lazo/Allison Braatz (Crofton Swim & Tennis Club)
• 14-15 Boys Singles: Champion – Ryan Hart (South River Colony) won 8-1. Finalist – Ricky Baumann (Anne Arundel County Tennis Association)
• 14-15 Girls Singles: Champion – Carys Preston (Chartwell) won 8-2. Finalist – Kaia Norton (Chartwell)
• 14-15 Boys Doubles: Champions – Collin McCarthy/Nick Sims (Crofton) won 9-7. Finalists – Sam Biddle/August Keohan (Crofton)
• 10-13 Boys Singles: Champion – Charlie Herman (Chartwell) won 8-3. Finalist – Sawyer Knapp (St. Andrew’s)
• 10-13 Girls Singles: Champion – Julia Conley (Andover) won 8-4. Finalist – Audrey Canaday (AACTA)
• 10-13 Boys Doubles: Champions – Ben Campion/Riley Handwerger (Shipley’s Choice) won 8-4. Finalists – Leo Havens/JP Miller (St. Andrews)
• 10-13 Girls Doubles: Champions – Madison Keane/Mackenzie Keane (Crofton) won 8-6. Finalists – Olivia Nardone/Ava Zimmerman (Shipley’s Choice)
