Crofton Man Arrested In Police Drug Raid
The Anne Arundel County police raided the home of a Crofton man Wednesday and arrested him on drug and weapons charges.
CROFTON, MD — A Crofton man is facing drug dealing and weapons charges after Anne Arundel County police raided his home Tuesday and seized marijuana, prescription pills and firearms, according to a police report. The raid resulted from a month-long narcotics investigation in the area.
The police arrested Jacob David Bender, 33, of the 2500 block of Vineyard Lane on the following charges:
- three counts of possession of a controlled substance (not marijuana);
- one count of possession of marijuana;
- three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute;
- one count of possession of drug paraphernalia;
- two weapons-related charges;
- one count of removal of prescription drug label.
Police detectives and tactical officers raided Bender's residence at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, seizing 204 Alprazolam prescription pills, as well as one Oxycodone pill and two Buprenophine pills. They also seized 30.56 grams of marijuana, 40.94 grams of marijuana wax and 2.31 grams of crushed pills of an unknown combination, according to the police report.

In addition, they seized drug paraphernalia and more than $10,000 in cash, along with the following firearms: a Sig Sauer P220 .45-caliber pistol, a Remington 870 Express shotgun, a Model 311 Stevens shotgun and a traditional muzzle-loading firearm.
And they seized ammunition, including 14 .45-caliber bullets, a box of .22-caliber bullets and two dozen 12 gauge shotgun rounds.
