Crofton Townhome Sustains $30K Damage Due To Fire: Officials

CROFTON, MD — A three-story middle-of-the-group townhouse caught fire Sunday before 5 p.m. at 2078 Pawlet Drive. It took more than 40 firefighters about a half-hour to gain control of the blaze, which officials said caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.

According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, neighbors and a passerby reported the fire, which has been attributed to a wood stove. Firefighters limited the blaze to the chimney, attic and roof around the chimney.
