Iva O'Keefe, 83, of Annapolis, Formerly of Crofton

Iva O’Keefe, 83, a four-year resident of Annapolis and formerly of Crofton, died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes.

Born in Sandstone, WV, to the late Homer and Mary Bragg, Iva graduated from Sandstone High School and later worked as a realtor with Coldwell Banker. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis. In her spare time, Iva enjoyed her church and chatting with her friends, especially her companion, Ed Kopta.

Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Joe O’Keefe who died in 2004. They were married in 1956. She is survived by her children, Kevin O’Keefe of Portland, OR and Teresa O’Keefe of Annapolis, MD; her sister Vonda of Louisvelle, KY; her grandchildren, Kieron O’Keefe of San Clemente, CA, Charlene O’Keefe of Vancouver, WA, Cynthia Wolfe of Portland, OR and Ashley Wolfe of Elkhart, IN, she is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to celebrate Iva’s life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road in Annapolis. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122.
