My favorite child hood memory is nothing hurt....ever! I could jump off the top of a sliding board on to concrete, as there were no wood chips back then, scrape my knees, wipe them off and go again. At this time, my knees were either right or left, today, they are known as good or bad.
I could go flying off of a skateboard, land upside down, hands, legs and knees could be bleeding, but I got right back on like a pro. I could dance down any soul train line and, have the breath to do it again, and again.
I also remember (vividly), being able to eat anything I wanted all day long and the scale nor my pant size would budge!

I remember the days that I could "hold it" all day long, today, I can tell you where every bathroom is in the whole city.
I hate to sneeze because one sneeze can put my back out of whack for a month, or at this point, make me have to find one of the thousand bathrooms on my list.

I have reached the turn that music down age, but I know my parents were younger when they were screaming this, so, at least I'm getting older at an older age.
Last week my daughter brought home a large print book, I thought to myself, wasn't that nice of her to think about me, turns out, she did not mean to buy large print, but I am thrilled to have it after cataract surgery.
Some people wake up and take a multivitamin, I wake up and take a multiadvil, and tell it to cover whatever will pain me for the day.
These days when I scroll to my birth year when filling out a form on the internet, I get carpel tunnel in my wrists.
Also, it takes twice as long to look half as good, some days my knees buckle when my belt won't, everything hurts, and that which doesn't, doesn't work!
I've given up all of my bad habits such as bags, boxes and cartons and still don't feel better, but here I am being called ma'am all day long, and living life to the fullest that I can, it may or may not include band aids, ice, heat rubs, heating pads and eye patches, and I wouldn't change a thing except for a massage or five!
Now, all of you middle age youngsters, hop on a skateboard, show these kids how it's really done, and go out there and live your best life yet, look at getting older in the face, own it, and laugh at it!
