Road Reopens In Anne Arundel County After Tree Falls: Police
Police said St. Stephens Church Road was closed Tuesday afternoon temporarily.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Police said a road was closed in Anne Arundel County Tuesday afternoon because of a hazardous situation. The closure had ended by 3:15 p.m., officials reported.
A tree and wires had come down on St. Stephens Church Road before 2 p.m., according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. As a result, the road was closed between Johns Hopkins Road and Penderbrooke Drive.
After 3 p.m., police said that St. Stephens Church Road had reopened.

A week ago, part of St. Stephens Church Road had reportedly been closed due to flooding near Defense Highway.
Weather officials have been warning since July, when the region experienced an extraordinary amount of rainfall, that trees may be more prone to falling because of saturated ground.
