CROFTON, MD — Two Anne Arundel County firefighters were injured while battling a house fire Thursday afternoon. Multiple 911 calls were made reporting a fire on the second floor of a home located in the 1700 block of Crofton Parkway. Firefighters first on the scene discovered heavy fire conditions on the second floor that extended into the attic and through the roof of the two-story single-family home.
It took an estimated three dozen firefighters 20 minutes to control the fire, which is being investigated by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. Three firefighters with minor burn injuries to their leg, neck and hand were transported to the Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center where they were treated and subsequently discharged. One adult occupant, who was not home at the time of the fire, has been displaced.
