Traffic Alert Reminder: Road Closures for Fourth of July Parades
Independence Day parades in Annapolis and elsewhere in Anne Arundel County will mean road closures at times Saturday.

Independence Day parades will cause traffic delays from 9 a.m. until about 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at various locations throughout the area, then Saturday evening in downtown Annapolis.
The parades may affect drivers on these roads:
- Severna Park: (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) Benfield Road at Evergreen Road and McKinsey Road at Route 648 and Cypress Creek Road.
- Shady Side: (10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) Route 468 (Shady Side Road) from West River Road and Snug Harbor Road.
- Cape St. Claire: (10 a.m.-noon) Cape St Claire Road throughout the community.
- Galesville: (1 p.m.-2 p.m.) Route 255 from Anchors Way and Benning Road. There will be marked Anne Arundel County Police vehicles present during the events and assisting with traffic control along the route.
Also, expect street closures in Downtown Annapolis for its parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. and should wrap up at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 4.

The parade route: Step-off is at Amos Garrett and West Street, down West Street, wrong way around Church Circle, down Main Street, left on Randall Street, and ends in front of the Market House.
