Bethlehem Star To Be Illuminated At Sparrows Point

The star that once graced the Bethlehem Steel plant will shine over Tradepoint Atlantic.

DUNDALK, MD — The Star of Bethlehem at Sparrows Point will be lit up next Wednesday night in what has become a Baltimore County tradition. Tradepoint Atlantic salvaged the star from the old Bethlehem Steel plant and will illuminate the beacon on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

"Since it was first lit more than 30 years ago, the Star of Bethlehem at Sparrows Point has been a Baltimore County tradition," Tradepoint Atlantic said in a statement. "We look forward to continuing this tradition every year as we mark our progress toward the day when, once again, thousands of our neighbors will come to work each day beneath the Star."

Formerly known as the home of Bethlehem Steel, Tradepoint Atlantic spans 3,100 acres and is poised to once again be known as an industrial center, with tenants such as FedEx and Under Armour locating there. The land on Sparrows Point Boulevard was purchased in 2014 by investors and renamed Tradepoint Atlantic.
