Dundalk's Wise Avenue Train Garden Opens Saturday

The 33rd version of the popular Dundalk attraction features many local scenes and takes months to design and build.

If you're tired of hearing about Black Friday and its encroachment on Thanksgiving Day, or if you have no desire to shop any day of the week, let alone on one of the most hyped buying weekends of the year, a local fire volunteer fire department has just the solution.

Perhaps no other Dundalk-area holiday tradition is better known or takes more effort to construct that the Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Company's annual train garden.

Volunteers and train buffs work for months designing and constructing the garden for public viewing, according to the company's website.

The 33rd annual display opens Saturday at noon and will remain open through Jan. 5, closing only on Christmas Day, according to an online listing.

Weekday hours are 6 to 9 p.m. and weekend hours are noon to 9 p.m.

A donation of $1 is asked at the door of all patrons 8 and older.
