GoFundMe: Dundalk Heart Transplant Patient Needs Your Help

Caroline Hagan started the campaign on behalf of "Barbie," who needs help with the cost of anti-rejection drugs.

Dundalk-area resident Barbie Foust has suffered from heart trouble for years.

In September, the 50-year-old received a life-altering heart transplant, according to Caroline Hagan, who started a GoFundMe account to raise money to help with Barbie's medical expenses.

While the heart transplant gives Foust a new lease on life, she also faces a lifetime of medical expenses and must take 41 pills a day to stay healthy and to ensure her body won't reject the gift organ.

As of Thursday, the campaign had raised $2,478, with a goal of $10,000.
A quarter auction held last month raised just over $2,000, according to the  online post.
