2 Carroll Students Head To State Math Competition

Students from Sykesville Middle and Oklahoma Road Middle schools have qualified for the state Mathcounts event.

From Carroll County Schools:Two middle school students from Carroll County Public Schools placed among the top 30 individuals at the Frederick Chapter/Regional MATHCOUNTS competition. Elizabeth Stebner from Oklahoma Road Middle School placed 3 rd , and Sanghyeok Kang from Sykesville Middle School placed 15th . Both students qualified to advance to the state competition in March.

MATHCOUNTS is a national mathematics program for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students with the purpose of increasing enthusiasm for and enhancing achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States.
