The "nursing home situation in Carroll County" was "frightening," Gov. Larry Hogan said, asked during a Monday morning news conference about areas of concern around the state, since so many residents tested positive for the illness there. He went on to say that hospitals, detention facilities, assisted living facilities and nursing home facilities had seen cases of the virus too.

"There are literally thousands of facilities we're concerned about in the state of Maryland, including that one," Hogan said.

Local and state partners have collaborated in providing personal protective equipment as well as administrative support to assist those at Pleasant View Nursing Home, according to authorities.

The Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association, Carroll County Health Department, Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems are coordinating in the effort to support the facility.
