Carroll County Schools Make Weather Decision For Jan 9 2018

BREAKING: Schools in Carroll County will have a delayed start on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Carroll County will open two hours late on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Officials made the announcement Tuesday morning.

The delay comes after freezing rain Monday in the region prompted many schools, including those in Carroll County, to close early.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement alerting those in the Baltimore-Washington area that the recent cold snap combined with temperatures dropping overnight would result in ice on untreated roads and sidewalks through early Tuesday morning.
