Weather-Related Closures in Carroll County

Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 9, due to weather, according to an announcement from Carroll County Public Schools officials.

McDaniel College will be closed on Tuesday as well.

Carroll County government closed at 8:30 a.m. due to rapidly changing conditions, government authorities reported. Senior centers and the landfill also closed at 8:30 a.m.

Carroll County is under a winter weather advisory until midnight, with the potential for 2 to 5 inches of snow Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Wet snow was falling across the region Tuesday morning, and the Maryland Transportation Authority advised drivers to allow extra time for their morning commute and to be aware that what looks wet may be ice.
