Severe Thunderstorm Watch Canceled in Carroll County

Hail, damaging winds are possible with thunderstorms near Baltimore, National Weather Service advises.

UPDATE (5:55 p.m.)—The severe thunderstorm watch has been canceled; however, a gale warning is in effect on the Chesapeake Bay until 10 p.m. and thunderstorms with potentially damaging winds are still likely.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Carroll County and some other parts of the Baltimore metro area.

The National Weather Service issued the watch Tuesday afternoon, and it lasts until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Scattered thunderstorms accompanied by damaging winds and small hail are possible, according to the weather service.

The severe thunderstorm watch applies to Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford and Washington counties as well as Baltimore City.
