Dennis Wayne Hett Sr., 54 of Sykesville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, after an extended illness.
Born Dec. 29, 1959 in Olney, MD, Hett was the son of the late Foster and Margie Colson Hett, and the beloved husband of 36 years to Nancy Smith Hett.
Hett was retired from Springfield State Hospital. He enjoyed playing cards with old buddies and watching old westerns and wrestling on TV.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son Dennis Wayne Hett, Jr. and wife Brittany of Taneytown; daughter Christina Hett and partner Jesse Haugh of Sykesville; daughter Angela Hett and partner Danny Thompson of Mt. Airy; sisters Connie and husband Ronald Miller, Darlene Howes, Donna and Husband Neal McDaniel and Amy Hett all of Sykesville; sister-in-law Pearl Hett; grandchildren Zowie Haugh, Blake Haugh, Haven Thompson and Marley Hett; special Dogs Buddy and Missy and several nieces and nephews.
Hett is predeceased by brother Carl Hett, Sr. and Terry Keyser Brother-in-law Kenneth Howes.

The family received friends on Sunday, Dec. 28, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. in Winfield. Interment was private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Burrier-Queen to help defer funeral expenses.
