Expect Delays Along MD 32 Due To Road Construction
A 2.5-mile stretch of MD 32 near Eldersburg will be under construction through September.
ELDERSBURG, MD — Starting Sunday night, Aug. 4, motorists traveling along MD 32 (Sykesville Road) will need to prepare for possible traffic delays as the Maryland Department of Transportation's state highway administration begins work on that stretch of road. The $1.1 million resurfacing project will wrap up in early September.
Workers will be milling, paving and restripping almost 2.5 miles of MD 32. The project will start at the Liberty Reservoir Bridge and move south toward MD 26 (Liberty Road). This stretch of road was last resurfaced in 1991.
Expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation Sunday through Thursday beginning each night at 8 p.m. and continuing through 5 a.m. the following morning. Approximately, 15,000 vehicles travel this section of MD 32 each day, so nighttime travelers are encouraged to add extra drive time when road work is active.
