Flood Warning Issued For Carroll County

BREAKING: Drivers should not drive through roads covered by water; a flood warning is in effect for Carroll County, weather officials say.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Carroll County until 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. During a flood warning, flooding is imminent or occurring.

Thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain were detected by radar after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Drivers should turn around if they come across flooded roads, and pedestrians should not attempt to walk through flood waters.

  • Columbia
  • Ellicott City
  • Henryton
  • West Friendship
  • Winfield
  • Louisville
  • Dayton
  • Gaither

A flash flood watch remains in effect for most of the state until 10 p.m. because there is the potential for "intense rainfall rates" that may lead to flash flooding, weather officials said.
