Homicide Under Investigation Near Eldersburg

SYKESVILLE, MD — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found deceased near Sykesville over the weekend, officials say. His body was located in an office building, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Gurecki, 56, of Hagerstown, was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials reported.

Police said that officers found Gurecki when they were called to respond to a possible homicide at Retro Environmental in the 5300 block of Enterprise Street at 2:22 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit and Maryland State Police Crime Scene Units are continuing to investigate.
