Liberty High School's Maya Lee Named Best Drum Major

Liberty High School takes third place at Tournament Of Bands Region 5 Championships, Junior Maya Lee wins High Drum Major

Congratulations to Maya Lee and the Liberty High School Lions’ Pride Marching Band who has once more earned 3rd place in Group III Open Class with a score of 96.00 at the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships this past Sunday, October 29 at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey, PA. The marching band took home awards for High Woodwinds and High Drum Major. This is the second consecutive year the Lions’ Pride Marching Band has earned 3rd place at Atlantic Coast Championships. This year’s show was titled, Amazon: Quest for Gold. There were 62 band members, including 10 color guard and 1 drum major.

Currently, there is no drum major award aside from the Atlantic Coast Championships. It’s a tremendous accomplishment each year to compete with all other high school drum majors in the final competition of the season and walk away with the award. As the recipient of the Group III Open Class Best Drum Major Award, Maya Lee will be one of four drum majors to lead the Tournament of Bands All-Star Marching Band in the 2017 Philadelphia Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade.
