Liberty Nationally Recognized for Its Drama Program

The award recognizes quality educational theater.

Liberty High School is one of 12 schools in the country that has received national recognition for its drama program from the Educational Theatre Association.

The drama program at Liberty received the 2012-2013 Outstanding School Achievement Award, which recognizes quality educational theater, according to a district news release.

Drama teacher Tony Cimino leads the drama department, which has also won other accolades at both the Cappies, (Critics and Awards Program), and the Maryland State Thespian Festival, district officials said.

Rated PG, the musical, at Liberty High School on 5855 Bartholow Road in Sykesville, has performance dates on April 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. and April 20 and 27 at 2 p.m.
