One Killed, One Injured in Marriottsville Crash: Police

Police said Marriottsville Road was closed for investigation after fatal head-on crash.

Marriottsville, MD – One driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Marriottsville Road Thursday afternoon, according to police, who said another was injured.

The identities of both women will be released after authorities notify next of kin.

The crash happened at approximately 5:20 p.m. in the 13000 block of Marriottsville Road, when a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that was headed north toward Carroll County drifted across the double-yellow line and hit another vehicle head-on, the Howard County Police Department reported.

The driver of the Impala was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. She was the only person the car.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle, a 2001 Ford Escape, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in stable condition.

The scene of the crash—Marriottsville Road in the area of Driver Road—remained closed after 7 p.m. for police investigation.
