Pedestrian Killed In Eldersburg Crash: Police

A 17-year-old girl was behind the wheel in Monday night's fatal collision on Liberty Road, Maryland State Police report.

ELDERSBURG, MD - A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on MD 26 in Eldersburg Monday night, according to Maryland State Police.

The crash occurred at 8:43 p.m. on MD 26/Liberty Road east of Hemlock Road, according to authorities.

The 50-year-old man was crossing MD 26 in the area between Hemlock Road and Ridge Road when he was hit by a 2013 Nissan Sentra, police said.

The driver was a 17-year-old girl, with another 17-year-old in the car as her passenger, officials reported.

Police said the pedestrian was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He is not being identified pending next-of-kin notification.
