Rita Ines Sheehan, 63, of Eldersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at her home. Born March 25, 1951 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Dorothy Ferdinand Rivera. She was the wife of Edward R. Sheehan of Eldersburg.
Rita’s family life and career were underscored by tremendous giving. Rita was a day care mother, an associate at the local Walmart and a devoted volunteer within the community.
Surviving in addition to her husband are son and daughter-in-law Mikey Sheehan and Melissa Smith of Westminster, daughter Chrissy Alban of Eldersburg, sisters and brother-in-law Arlene and Cyrus Hutchison of Locust, NC, and Mary Lou Bulger of Sykesville, and grandchildren Malachi and Alex Warner.

The family will receive friends at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 6416 Sykesville Rd. in Sykesville on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Community, located at 915 Liberty Rd. in Eldersburg. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
